a colorful micro wedding at the fremont foundry
toni & ra-sha’s micro wedding at the fremont foundry was like art coming to life with bright florals, disco balls, choreographed dances, and a crowd that knew exactly how to throw down on the dance floor.
they envisioned a celebration that felt modern, colorful, and true to them. fashion-forward guests, a whimsical theme, and an atmosphere that screamed fun were all part of the plan, and the fremont foundry’s industrial-meets-artsy vibe was the perfect backdrop for it all to unfold. it really was everything you’d hope for from a late summer celebration in seattle.
getting ready + rooftop ceremony
the day started with toni and ra-sha getting ready separately in the second-floor lofts of the venue. the natural light pouring in made for beautiful portraits.
the rooftop ceremony setup was gorgeous with white chairs, vibrant floral arrangements in pops of orange, pink, and purple, and that modern city skyline backdrop. and then, of course, their flower dude absolutely stole the show on his walk down the aisle.
each of them was walked down the aisle by their mom, and a close friend officiated the ceremony. it really couldn’t have been a more perfect summer day!
about the fremont foundry
if you’re looking for a wedding venue that feels artistic, industrial, and full of character like toni & ra-sha did, then the fremont foundry might be your match. part of landmark event co. (the same team behind the ruins), it’s designed for couples who love modern architecture and bold design.
you get access to three full levels when you rent the space. the rooftop deck, penthouse, second-floor mezzanine with getting-ready areas, and the ground-floor atrium and garden. the rooftop can host outdoor ceremonies, while the atrium makes a stunning backup if rain rolls, because this is seattle.
capacity-wise, it can host up to 225 guests seated or 850 standing, so whether you’re planning an intimate micro wedding like toni & ra-sha’s or a larger celebration, there’s space to make it your own. vaulted ceilings, concrete walls, and that signature glass dance floor give it a look that’s equal parts dramatic and elegant.
but also... pro tip? it’s really hard to light. like, notoriously difficult. the walls are dark, ceilings are high, and there’s a ton of ambient light trickery going on. so please (i’m begging you), don’t hire a budget photographer who doesn’t know how to use flash. i’ve seen flash used in here so badly it physically hurt. so please, hire someone who knows how to handle complex lighting!
cocktail hour + reception vibes
after the ceremony, guests moved right into rooftop cocktails, and honestly, it was one of the most unique cocktail hours i’ve seen! there was even a champagne dress performer, decked out in lavender, pearls, and flowers, handing out drinks like something out of a dream. it perfectly fit the couple’s whimsical vision and added a splash of theatrical fun that had everyone buzzing.
after that, everyone headed inside to the atrium for dinner, laughter, and toasts that had the whole room laughing and crying.
shoutout to mary from finn events who kept the day running flawlessly. getting a good coordinator is so important as you need to manage all the moving parts that come with a multi-level venue like fremont.
the dance floor where disco dreams come true
and then… the party began.
toni, who’s always loved dance and dreams of opening an lgbtq+ wedding dance studio one day, choreographed their first dance. and let me just say, they SLAYED. fog machines, disco balls, dramatic lighting, and the kind of joy that makes you scream internally behind the camera.
their dance floor later was just as good. i think we all needed that release. it was pure happiness.
thinking about getting married at the fremont foundry in seattle, wa?
do it. seriously. with its industrial architecture, rooftop views, and modern art-meets-city energy, the fremont foundry is one of seattle’s most distinctive wedding venues.
but keep in mind, that this is not an easy venue to photograph well. the lighting here can be tricky, so make sure you hire a photographer who knows how to balance flash, natural light, and everything in between.
ready to book your wedding at the fremont foundry? i’d love to hear all about your vision and help you bring it to life with photos that feel bold, real, and timeless.
