whimsical celebration at the ruins wedding venue in seattle, wa
amy and alex’s wedding at the ruins in seattle, wa was one for the books. full of color, candlelight, and character, this day was the perfect mashup of sophisticated styling and fun-loving energy. these two brides brought the glam and the goof, and the ruins wedding venue brought the perfect amount of whimsy, intimacy, and low-lit drama to match.
if you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels timeless but playful, curated but cozy, and unlike anyone else’s, you need to check out the ruins.
ceremony & private vows at the ruins
the day started at the four points by sheraton, where alex and amy had a two-bedroom suite to get ready separately. they didn’t see each other’s final looks, but hilariously ended up choosing almost identical bracelets and necklaces (like, what are the odds?). these two are seriously on the same wavelength!
their first look happened at the ruins, tucked into the dreamy corners of this whimsical venue. they also shared private vows before the ceremony, just the two of them, letting the emotions sink in. soft lighting, artful backdrops, and a lot of happy tears.
their actual ceremony followed shortly after, with traditional vows and a walk down the aisle—together. cue the tears.
the ruins wedding venue in seattle, wa
amy and alex chose the ruins because they were looking for something special, something with a story, soul, and a little drama. the ruins offered all of that and more.
tucked away in lower queen anne, the ruins feels like stepping into another world. think hand painted murals, crystal chandeliers and fireplaces galore. they also have a private library, a moody lounge and a full ballroom with hidden pnw creatures on the walls.
it’s eclectic, a little mysterious, and full of texture. seriously, a seattle wedding photographer’s dream… if you know how to handle low light. (pro tip: you definitely want to hire a photographer with low-light experience for this one.)

their colorful wedding reception at the ruins
the reception space was warm and candlelit, with long tables, layered florals, and that show-stopping mural-covered ballroom. guests dined beneath glowing chandeliers and raised glasses to the couple as they grand-entranced to ru paul. absolutely iconic!
it felt high-end, but never stuffy. elegant, but still so them. the best kind of wedding where no detail is ignored, but nothing is too precious to party.
