i am so excited that you are interested in choosing sound and sea to document your special day! i believe that choosing a wedding photographer is about more than just hiring someone with a camera to document your day. sound and sea is based in seattle, washington, but travels all throughout the pacific northwest and beyond. we love all the moods and glory that our landscape offers us in the pnw and try to incorporate that natural beauty into your day as much as possible. we equally adore seattle and itβs chic urban setting and love to capture the heartbeat of the city as the perfect backdrop for a sophisticated urban wedding. whether your wedding day is a laid back party or a sophisticated soirΓ©e - We strive to create gorgeous images that are authentic, artistic, timeless, and emotional in order to document and tell the unique magical love story of each day.

Sound and Sea and Associates have photographed COUNTLESS weddings OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES in the past seven years and weβre happy to share everything weβve learned along the way!
wedding prep
i check-in on a semi-regular basis from booking to wedding date to get to know you so i can best personalize your wedding photography. i also send out tips and advice for you as you plan! about four months before the wedding i send off a detailed questionnaire to start chatting about wedding day and timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions, and anything else i should know about your big day.

photo delivery
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery 90 days after your wedding, i send over a mini-story of your entire day consisting of about 100+ photos within 2 weeks to tie you over while i carefully edit and retouch the rest of your gallery.
i hope the relationship doesn't end after we deliver your photographs. i want to hear about the adventures of married life And if you decide to have kids, i'd love to document your growing family! :)

wedding add-onβs
engagement sessions
if you are in need of an engagement session, I have you covered. It can take time for couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how we pose. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days - which is why weβve found that wedding day portraits can turn out better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time.
an adventure engagement session is another incredible add-on i offer at a special rate for those who book their wedding with me! these are no hike epic locations in and around western washington and make for a special half day outing.
Sessions also allow you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and even include pets!). While theyβre great for save-the-dates, iβve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to a few days before the wedding.
if interested, please inquire about these sessions as an add-on to any wedding at a very special discounted rate!
highlight films
we offer a highlight film add-on to any wedding photography package! we love romantic slow motion and vintage vibes and make extraordinarily unique and artistic wedding films.
you receive a highlight film set to music + a full separate file of your ceremony & toasts. drone footage is included depending on allotted time, weather & venue/FAA regulations. and finally, a one minute highlight reel for social media will be sent out within 2 weeks as a preview.
option to add a second videographer for larger wedding days is also possible.
fine art albums and books
One of the best ways to make your wedding memories last is by ordering an album or book. These high quality albums and books come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These arenβt the same albums your parents wedding photos came in. Theyβre modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on coffee tables.
Albums and books can be purchased directly from the online gallery you will be delivered. you can design yourself or have me design for a small extra fee. albums, books, prints, and a variety of other heirloom products are available for purchase after receiving your final gallery of photographs.

We love your work and we're ready to book! What's the next step?
Fantastic! simply contact me To confirm my availability and initiate the conversation! to then reserve your wedding date, i will send over a proposal for the wedding collection you build. A signed contract and A non-refundable retainer of $1000 completes the booking for full day weddings! retainers for microwedding packages depend on day of week and are no more than 50% of your package price. the contract and invoices are electronic and i take credit card or bank transfer for payment. The remaining balance is broken up into 3 more payments throughout the time leading up to your wedding day or can be a customized payment plan of your own choosing! final balance is due typically 30 days before your event, but can always be extended by 30-60 days before delivery of photos and/or video.
DO YOU USE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
heck yes! WHILE myself and my team prides ourselves on being STEALTHY and efficient ON YOUR DAY AND HAVE SHOT LARGE WEDDINGS ALONE, I DO strongly RECOMMEND YOU ADDing-ON A second PHOTOGRAPHER FOR all WEDDINGS OVER 100 PEOPLE, a lead photographer CAN ONLY BE IN ONE PLACE AT ONE TIME, SO A second PHOTOGRAPHER ENSURES YOU HAVE ALL OF YOUR ANGLES COVERED FOR THOSE ONCE IN A LIFETIME MOMENTS.
are you licensed and insured?
absolutely! we are licensed with the state of washington and i am a member of PPA - the professional photographers of america. we carry both data insurance and limited liability.
How many photos are typically included and can we print the photos ourselves?
Galleries typically include anywhere between 400 and 800 photos for a full wedding day. The exact amount varies from wedding to wedding, but we average about 75 photos per hour of shoot time. Your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited high resolution images you can print anywhere, or prints can be purchased via your gallery from my professional lab. You and your family are also welcome to share your wedding photos on social media as long as you credit us.
When do you charge travel fees?
i typically add travel fees on to any wedding that has a travel time of more than 2 hours roundtrip from home in seattle, wa. Fees vary depending on location so ask me for more details.
DO YOU SHOOT OUT OF WASHINGTON STATE?
we adore travel - so please inquire and letβs see what my schedule looks like! airfare & accommodation would be added as a travel fee to your package. accommodation fees are waived for austin, texas, los angeles, california, & las vegas, nevada, and baja california sur where julie has a lot of family to stay with!
