Luxury Styled Wedding at Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas
winter in las vegas is basically summer in seattle. when i tell you it was so nice to step out of the gray drizzle and into this sunny day in nevada, i mean it!! i had the chance to photograph this luxury styled wedding shoot at the beautiful green valley ranch resort — and it was truly an unforgettable experience.
this was actually my first styled shoot ever (i know! crazy!). i've been a wedding photographer for years now and have shot so many incredible real weddings — but getting to photograph a shoot designed just for creative expression? what a treat!
styled shoots are not real weddings
let me say this: as someone who has lived and breathed real weddings for years — styled shoots are so fun and so inspiring, but they are not weddings. at all. photographing models who don’t have a ceremony timeline or nervous excitement or 200 guests waiting for dinner? that’s a whole different vibe. and it confirmed what i’ve always known — real wedding photography is about connection, emotion, and rolling with the punches.
styled shoots are amazing for playing with new techniques, meeting fellow creatives, and capturing gorgeous work. BUT marketing them as real weddings? not cool. it’s kinda wild to already see people using images from this shoot on socials with zero mention that it was styled. so, future couples — make sure to ask to see full galleries of actual wedding days when you’re hiring your photographer. you deserve to know what their work looks like from start to finish, not just the perfectly curated highlights!

about this luxury styled wedding in las vegas
the design, by the incredible desi camille, was sophisticated and whimsical in the best ways. the ceremony setup was such a standout — a dreamy mix of soft fabric draping and elegant calla lilies. it had this high-end editorial feel but honestly? it’s an awesome idea that could totally be recreated more affordably with a little creativity. such good inspo for couples who want something elevated but approachable.
this was shot on both film and digital (yep, i brought out my film cameras and it felt sooo good). the light was immaculate, the resort grounds were stunning, and the team - so talented.

green valley ranch is an amazing venue — it’s a high-end resort and casino just outside the bustle of the strip, so it’s super easy to get to but still feels luxurious and relaxing. my uncle actually used to work there (lol small world!) and it was extra fun to explore the grounds with that little personal connection. for couples who are looking for something with all the vegas sunshine and elegance, but without the strip chaos? this spot is perfect. plenty of space, great parking, spa access, and some truly beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions.
also — if you’re planning a winter wedding and you're from the pacific northwest? vegas is such a good option to escape the gloom.

this shoot reminded me how fun it is to collaborate with talented creatives, push myself artistically, and photograph in new environments. it was a beautiful day — and while it wasn’t a real wedding, it sure was a real joy to capture.
